Obituary

BERNICE BILLIPS GRIFFITH

Bernice Billips Griffith, 91, of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 18, 2026.  Born in Abbs Valley, VA, she was the youngest child of ten born to the late Luther and Zenobia Brooks Billips.  She was a 1952 graduate of Pocahontas High School.  Most of her career was spent in banking, working for Bank of Pocahontas, Kingsport National Bank and Bank of Tazewell County. Bernice's greatest role in life was the joy of raising her 2 children.  She was an incredible caregiver, always being a Godly Christian example.  She was a member of Mudfork Church of Christ and attended faithfully until her health would no longer allow her to do so.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years: John Mason Griffith; a son: Tim Griffith; 9 siblings: Ernest, Marlin, Clarence, Gertrude, Vernon, Sally, Carl, Luther and Nannie Lou Billips.

Those left to remember her love and caring ways are her daughter: Lisa Griffith Bradford of the home; her grandson: Harrison Bradford of Beckley, WV.

A service to celebrate Bernice's life will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 12:00 P.M. with Minister Steve Moran officiating.  Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.  The burial will be a private family service.

The family would like to THANK the staff at 4W at Princeton Hospital for the compassionate care in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Bernice's memory.
