BENJAMIN DWIGHT BOWLING

Benjamin Dwight Bowling, 92 of Milford, OH and formerly of Bluefield, WV, passed away Tuesday, July 09, 2024 at the home of his niece.  Born in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late James Harvey Bowling and Cynthia Matilda Repass Bowling.  Ben loved to go to church and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.  He enjoyed riding bicycles and motorcycles. He watched anything on TV that had a Model T in it; he loved old cars and tinkering with old engines with his best friend, Roy Underwood. Ben had lived in the same house for 92 years and was self-sufficient.  He was a beekeeper, loved his cats and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Joseh Paul Bowling, Esther Jean Bowling and Nancy Ruth Fisher; nephews: James Hampton Fisher and Jed Eric Fisher; niece: Cynthia Nelle Fisher.

Those left to cherish his memory are: 4 half-brothers; nieces and nephews: Ruth Anita Fisher, whom he made his home with in his final months and who was also his caregiver, Susan Raloski, Sandra McGlothlin, Keith Bowling, Scott Bowling, Amy Jeanette Sundeen, Julie Love Wilkinson, Laura Rachel Fisher Seldon Andrew Fisher and Mark Kirby; several great nieces and great nephews, as well as great great-nieces and great great-nephews. He was a surrogate grandfather, helping raise, Kelsey and Donna Thompson.

A service to celebrate Ben's life will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor C.L. Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Kelsey Thompson, Donna Thompson, Curtis Thompson, Andrew Fisher, Roscoe Hale, Silas Crane, Keith Bowling and Scott Bowling will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
