BARBARA JOYCE LAYNE

Barbara Joyce Layne, 72 of Springville, VA, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born in Abbs Valley, VA, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Dorothy Sayers Asbury. She loved traveling, whether on cruises or visiting family, and enjoyed camping.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Shannon Craig Layne and 3 brothers and one sister.

She will be lovingly and affectionately missed by her son: Gregory David Layne and his wife, Teresa of Tazewell, VA and their two sons, Zachary of the home and Andrew of Cedar Bluff, VA; companion and friend , Robert Ketron of Richlands, VA; sisters: Trudy Gano and husband, Don of Clermont, FL and Sharon Spradlin and husband, Bruce of Lake City, FL; brothers: Jack Asbury of Minneola, FL, Ray Asbury and wife Phyllis of Altoona, FL and Daniel (Dee) Asbury and wife, Linda of Weirsdale, FL.

A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Horn officiating. Her body will be laid to rest at Grandview Memory Gardens following the service. Pallbearers will be Greg Layne, Zachary Layne, Andrew Layne and Bruce Spradlin.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
