BARBARA ELLEN ASHWORTH
Barbara Ellen Ashworth, 75 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at her home. Born in Hall, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Mary Johnson Jones and Tilton Collins. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and quilting. She loved her family dearly and loved shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Eura Lou Burke.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years: Charles Freeman Ashworth of Bluefield, VA; her children: Keith Akers of Bluefield, VA, Judy Akers McCloud and husband, William "Gus" III of Florida, Danny Akers and wife, Tima Marie of Springville, VA, Penny Ashworth Tibbs and husband, Jeffrey of Bluefield, VA and Charles "Chuck" Ashworth of California; grandchildren: William McCloud IV, Matthew McCloud, Tyler Tibbs and wife, Melody, Keith Martin Jr and wife, Tiffany, Thomas Lee and wife, Samantha; 4 great-grandchildren
A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Minister Thurman Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the family Friday, October 14, 2016 at Dudley Memorial from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
