Arthur Kelly Harvey, Jr., 87

Arthur Kelly Harvey, Jr., 87, of Bluefield, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026. Born October 14, 1938, in Bluefield, Virginia, he was the son of the late Arthur Kelly Harvey and Helen Paris Harvey.

AK was a proud graduate of Graham High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career with Appalachian Power Company, retiring after more than 30 years of service. He attended Voice of Praise and Worship Center in Bluewell, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Peggy Byrd. He is survived by one sister, Joanna Waterson.

AK is deeply loved and will be forever missed by his wife, Sue Harvey; his children and their spouses, Arthur Kelly Harvey III and Marsha Hamrick Harvey, and Robin Harvey Morris and Adam Morris. He leaves behind four grandchildren who brought great joy to his life: Bethany (Derek Neal), Brinnon (Leauna Morris), Hayden Harvey, and Kinsley Harvey, as well as two great‑grandchildren, Lettie Neal and Lora Neal.

After retiring, AK found great joy in spending time outdoors. Farming became one of his favorite hobbies, and for more than twenty years he devoted himself to working the land, caring for his farm, and enjoying the peaceful rhythm of country life.

AK's life was marked by devotion to his family, quiet strength, and a deep sense of responsibility and integrity. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.

A service to celebrate A.K.'s life will be held Thursday March 19th at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor N.R. Taylor officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM till the hour of service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
