Obituary

On Wednesday, January 19, Arthur Bourne, favorably known as "Dal," of Bluefield, Virginia, passed to be with his Lord and Savior.

Born January 10, 1935, Dal was a devoted member of Memorial Baptist Church of Bluefield, VA. Dal lived most of his life in Bluefield, was, for a time, a butcher in Bluefield, and was known for producing some of the best tomatoes in Bluefield.

Although Dal was an only child, he spent his childhood living with his aunt and cousins and shared a special bond with them for his entire life. Dal was very proud of his service as an electrician in the US Army and was the inventory manager for Tabor Machine company, something he fondly discussed with many in Bluefield.

Dal was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne Brooks Bourne, of over sixty years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his only child Sandra Bourne Bonham and her husband, Robert Bonham of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Princeton, WV, three grandchildren, Bryson Bonham of Charlotte, Brianna Bonham and husband Landon Frerich of Charlotte and Robert "Davis" Bonham of Raleigh, NC.

Public visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:00 pm Sunday, January 23, at Dudley Memorial Mortuary, with service by Rev Bill Lykins at 1:00 pm. Contributions may be made to Memorial Baptist Church of Bluefield, Virginia.
