ANTHONY WAYNE TABOR
Anthony Wayne Tabor, 66 of Baptist Valley, North Tazewell, VA and formerly Falls Mills, VA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 1, 2016. Born in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late George and Marie Harris Tabor. He had worked his entire career for ALLTEL/GTE and retired after 35 years of service. He enjoyed attending High School football games with his brothers. He loved to "tinker" with small engines. Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was in the 25th Infantry Division HHB2/77th artillery in Vietnam from May 1969-August 1970. He was a member of the VFW Post #9696. He was a simple family oriented man who loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Donald, Raymond and James Tabor and Margaret Berbert and his beloved Fur-baby: Nikki.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Leeta Brown Tabor of Baptist Valley, North Tazewell, VA; son: Willie Tabor and wife, Nicole of Bradenton, FL; daughter: Angie Lowe and husband, Adam of Richcreek, VA; step-daughter: Carri Curry of North Tazewell, VA; brothers: Jerry Tabor and wife, Janet of Bluefield, VA and Randy Tabor of North Tazewell, VA; sisters: Judy Bryant and husband, Ivan of South Hill, VA, Connie Owen of Ronoake, VA and Brenda Perkins and husband, Ray of Bluefield, VA; ex-wife and friend: Sandra Tabor; grandchildren: Anna Carbaugh of Centerville, VA, Sara Carbaugh of Richcreek, VA, Joshua, Jace and Drew Tabor of Bradenton, FL; step-grandchildren: Madison and Dustin Curry, Dallas and Denver Dye, Austin, Alissa and Addison Lowe; an extended family of special friends he served in Vietnam with and remained in contact with: Bob Jensen, Dean Whitten Robert Brady and Allen Kittrell; many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Dudley Memorial from 5-7 p.m. The VFW Post #9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post #14 will conduct military services on Wednesday at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. The interment will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tabor Family Cemetery in Falls Mills, VA.
