ANNA ZANE MAHOOD
Anna Zane Mahood, 95 of Carrington Place, Wytheville, VA and formerly of Bluefield, VA went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 23, 2016. Born in Pocahontas, VA, she was the daughter of the late Everette and Lucy Tabor Baker. Her life was spent in service to her church (Memorial Baptist) and neighbors, teaching Sunday school, taking meals to shut-ins and serving as church secretary for over 17 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clarence H Mahood, Jr, sisters: Edith Shrader, Nellie Caldwell, Fannie Bailey and Vernon Hopkins; brothers: Blaine and Bill Baker; grandson: Phil Mahood; great-granddaughter: Anna Faith Mahood.
She will be lovingly and affectionately remembered by her children: Larry Blaine Mahood and wife, Jennifer of Bluefield, VA, Wanda Zane Wood and husband, Claude of Bristol, TN, Glen Robert Mahood and wife, Vicki of Bluefield, VA and David Wayne Mahood and wife, Cathye of Bluefield, VA; sisters: Charlotte Baker of Lexington, KY, Mary Louise Wilson of Wytheville, VA and Virginia Epperson of Mudfork, VA; grandchildren: Blaine Mahood and fiancé, Megan Grady, Maggie Mahood, Nancy Riffe, Eric Riffe, Lesley Dillon and husband, Jay, Blair Hranowsky and husband, Victor, Justin Mahood and Stephen Mahood; step-granddaughter: Denise Pittman and husband, Tyler; 3 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Jim Mahood of Bluefield, WV; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Mahood of Bluefield, VA and Nancy Gibson of Radford, VA.
We will celebrate Mrs. Mahood's life on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Memorial Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev Hugh Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday at the Church from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Memorial Baptist Church, 401 Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, VA 24605.
