Anna Mae Feuchenburger Stuart
Anna Mae Feuchtenberger Stuart of Bluefield, Va., passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home in Bluefield, VA on August 17, 2015. She loved her home where she enjoyed the beauty of East River Mountain. Her special delight was in watching the wildlife in her back yard, especially the hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 Years, R. R. Stuart, Jr, and her 3 brothers, Lloyd, Bill, and Jack Feuchtenberger. She is survived by her sister Betty Scott of Bluefield, WV, her sister-in-law Pat Feuchtenberger of Bluefield, VA, her sister-in-law Margie Whittle of Petersburg, VA, and by her 3 children, Robert (wife Linda) of Wilmington, NC, Anna Cromwell (husband James) , and David (wife Loretta) of Warwick NY. Surviving are 4 grandchildren, Amanda Stuart Marshall (husband Grant) of Winston Salem, NC, Navy Ensign Julian Adam Stuart, Eva Sophia, Emma Helene Stuart of Warwick, NY, and 12 nieces and nephews. Anna Mae was the daughter of the late L.D. and Ruby Crews Feuchtenberger of Bluefield, WV.
She was raised in Bluefield WV, was a graduate of Beaver High School and Sweet Briar College. She married her naval aviator sweetheart in October 1943.They spent their years in the two Bluefield's. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, golfer, life master bridge player, pianist and choir member at First Presbyterian Church for many years.
The family wishes to extend heart-felt thanks to her devoted caregivers – Martha, Mary, Michelle, Helen, Anita, Janey and Janet – who took such loving care of her. Her "girls" enabled her to remain in her beloved home until her passing. A special thank you to D.W. Perdue and to the Bluefield, Va. Hospice. According to her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes placed alongside those of her husband.
Her sweet gentle loving spirit will be a life-long inspiration to us.
