Ann Lee McCormick, of Bluefield, VA, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2016. She had just celebrated her 80th birthday on October 28 surrounded by family and friends. She appreciated the simple pleasures in life. What she treasured most was spending time with family and friends. An avid amateur photographer, she was always capturing special moments on film and sharing those memories with others. Ann was grew up in Bluefield, Virginia and attended Graham High School, actively involved in many extracurricular activities especially being a majorette at GHS. Upon graduation from McLean Business College, she was employed by the United States Pentagon, where she obtained a Top Secret clearance. Always having a positive attitude and uplifting spirit, she shared inspirational quotes she valued from her Facebook friends. She is survived by her "little brother" Jack Harold McCormick, his wife Pamela, and her niece, Jacki McCormick, and her two sons, Leslie Craig Barker and Scott David Barker; she was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Carol Barker, whom she called her "angel". Ann proudly adored her grandchildren Craig Wesley Barker and Kelley Ann Barker, and her daughter-in-law Christi Barker. Ann particularly enjoyed a good Chinese dinner with friends, beautiful jewelry, a good book, and talking about how the Lord had blessed her. A positive force in the universe, she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will conduct a service in her memory Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Dudley Memorial Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Grandview Memory Gardens.
