Alice Keen Stiltner, 88 of Bland, VA, died peacefully at her home, Monday, April 23, 2018. Alice is survived by her husband, Keith Stiltner of Bland, her four children, Karen (Charles) Guidry of Durham, NC, Eric (Chrissy) Stiltner of Red House, WV, Douglas (Rebecca) Stiltner of Bluefield, WV, and Jeffrey Stiltner of Bland, as well as nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She also is survived by one sister, Blanche Dexter of Columbus, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reece Keen and Rosa Thomas Hagy Keen of Keen Mountain, VA, three brothers and three sisters.

Alice was born at Keen Mountain, Virginia. After contracting spinal meningitis at age 6, she was left completely deaf. She learned to read lips and let nothing stop her as she moved through life, marrying the "boy across the creek" and raising four children with him. They were married for over 69 years at the time of her death. She handled the role of minister's wife at several churches in North Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia. Alice was an avid summer gardener and loved growing fresh vegetables, making jelly, and baking her special zucchini bread.

Friends may visit with the family, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Ministers Roger Dalton and Brian Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
